Virtual Reality motion comics, taking things to the next level…
Angel Eyes is a 9-episode VR motion comic series developed with Sky Immersive
and Surround Vision. It tells the story of Janus, a hitman who finds himself caught
between Heaven and Hell with the world on the brink of the apocalypse and the fate
of mankind in the balance.
Conceived as a proof of concept, Angel Eyes revolutionises narrative story
world-building through an innovative graphic engine pipeline, built using the Unity Game Engine. The primary goal was to explore a 'multi-format' approach, enabling seamless story exposure across various engagement points and formats, and amplifying the creative potential of the technology whilst maintaining the essence of the traditional Graphic Novel format.

I&I worked closely with Sky Immersive and Surround Vision to establish a dynamic
workflow for narrative development and to harness the power of the game engine
technology to offer diverse output formats. It involved the strategic use of Unity to
create multiple versions, centered around the primary VR experience, with potential
AR elements and stretch goals for either print or digital publication.
This approach empowered us to adopt a 'build once, use many' strategy, ensuring
efficiency and flexibility in exposing the captivating story world to a wide range of
audiences.
I&I acted as the core creative studio, developing the story, characters, and scripts in
collaboration with Matt McCartney from Sky Immersive, and produced all the story
artwork as well as commissioned an awesome array of artists to showcase the
covers.
